League Rules & Expectations
- General Rules
- Gold Line Hockey's #1 goal is to maintain competitive balance among all of our levels of play. Players and teams are expected to register for and participate at an appropriate competitive level. We reserve the right to restrict player eligibility or move a player or team to a different division to maintain competitive balance. Reasonable efforts will be made to communicate with and work with the affected player or team before making such decision.
- Gold Line Hockey requires 72 hours notice for a game cancellation request in order for the game to be rescheduled. Any request made with less than 72 hours notice will result in a forfeit for that team. Because cancellations under 72 hours still require us to pay for the ice, referees and scorekeepers, the game will not be rescheduled and no refund or credit will be issued.
- All team fees must be paid according to the payment schedule established by Gold Line Hockey (can be found on the season info tab). Teams that are not current on required payments and have not made prior payment arrangements with Gold Line Hockey will be required to forfeit scheduled games until the account is brought current. Any games forfeited due to nonpayment will not be rescheduled, and no refund or credit will be issued for those games.
- Team Rosters
- A team may have a maximum of 26 players on its roster
- A maximum of 20 players, including the goaltender(s), can dress for any game.
- No un-rostered player may participate in any Gold Line Hockey game (goalies are an exception). The penalty for violating this rule is a 1-game suspension for the un-rostered player and team captain. The player's suspension cannot be served until they are properly added to the team's roster.
- Player Registration
- All players must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to participate in any Gold Line Hockey activity. No player under the age of eighteen (18) may participate in a Gold Line Hockey game or be added to a team roster.
- No player can be rostered on more than two (2) teams within Gold Line Hockey
- No player can be rostered on more than one (1) team within the same division. A player may also be rostered on a team in an immediately adjacent division, but may not be rostered on teams that are more than one division apart (i.e. If a player is rostered in the C1 division, they can be rostered on a team in either the B division or the C2 division, but cannot be rostered in the C3 division). This is to maintain competitive balance among all of the divisions.
